SilTerra Silicon Photonics Platform Enables Integration of Lightwave Logic High-Speed Polymer Modulators Through Luceda Photonics PDK
March 3, 2026

Mar. 3, 2026 -- SilTerra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (“SilTerra”), a leading semiconductor foundry advancing silicon photonics manufacturing, today announced that Lightwave Logic’s high-speed electro-optic (EO) polymer modulator platform is now available within the Luceda Photonics Process Design Kit (PDK) targeting SilTerra’s silicon photonics technology platform.

This collaboration integrates Lightwave Logic’s polymer-based modulator technology into the Luceda Photonics design environment, enabling customers to design, simulate, and tape out advanced electro-optic polymer modulators for fabrication on SilTerra’s silicon photonics manufacturing platform.

The PDK includes production-ready parameterized cells (PCells), simulation-validated compact models, and foundry-qualified design rules aligned with SilTerra’s silicon photonics process flow. Designers can now implement high-performance modulators within a validated design-to-silicon framework, supporting seamless transition from optical circuit design to manufacturable photonic integrated circuits (PICs).

SilTerra, Lightwave Logic, and Luceda Photonics successfully completed an initial tapeout using the new PDK in early 2026. Device characterization and performance validation are expected in mid-2026.

The integrated modulator designs target 200 Gbit/s and 400 Gbit/s per lane operation, enabling scalable 1.6T and 3.2T optical interconnect architectures for artificial intelligence infrastructure, high-performance computing, and advanced optical networking systems.

SilTerra continues to advance its silicon photonics platform to enable next-generation optical components within a robust, manufacturable foundry environment. By combining mature silicon process capabilities with emerging electro-optic materials, SilTerra is expanding its ecosystem to support energy-efficient, high-bandwidth photonic solutions for data-centric computing architectures.

“As AI workloads continue to scale, bandwidth density and energy efficiency have become defining challenges for next-generation computing infrastructure,” said Matthew Tan, CEO of SilTerra. “Through our collaboration with Lightwave Logic and Luceda Photonics, SilTerra is enabling a scalable design-to-manufacturing pathway for high-speed polymer modulators on our silicon photonics platform. This integration strengthens our ecosystem and supports the industry’s transition toward 1.6T and 3.2T optical interconnect solutions.”

“The availability of our high-speed modulator platform within the Luceda Photonics PDK represents an important milestone in enabling scalable customer adoption,” said Yves LeMaitre, CEO of Lightwave Logic. “By providing production-ready PCells and simulation-validated device models aligned with SilTerra’s silicon photonics platform, we enable designers to integrate our electro-optic polymer modulators into manufacturable photonic integrated circuits and accelerate the development of next-generation optical interconnect solutions.”

“By integrating Lightwave Logic’s disruptive polymer modulator technology into our platform, we are providing the ecosystem with a validated bridge between breakthrough IP and world-class manufacturing,” said Pieter Dumon, CEO of Luceda Photonics. “This collaboration ensures that designers benefit the proven design-to-silicon path to bring next-generation 200G and 400G components to life on SilTerra’s technology.”

Customers interested in incorporating Lightwave Logic’s modulator platform into their designs for fabrication on SilTerra’s silicon photonics platform and participating in upcoming tapeout programs are encouraged to contact SilTerra, Lightwave Logic, or Luceda Photonics.
