Lightwave Logic’s Advanced Organic Electro-Optic Polymers Surpass 4,000 Hours Of Photochemical Stability Testing

LONGMONT, Colo., Jan. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Lightwave Logic, Inc. (OTCQB: LWLG), a technology company focused on the development of Next Generation Photonic Devices and Non-Linear Optical Polymer Materials Systems for applications in high speed fiber-optic data communications and optical computing, announced today that photochemical stability testing of its advanced organic electro-optic polymer materials have now exceeded 4,000 hours with little to no optical degradation of the material’s properties and is well within acceptable results.

These photochemical stability test results along with the thermal stability at 110°C are important in the context of Lightwave Logic’s device development program as it moves from passive to active testing in it’s first organic polymer-enabled ridge waveguide device.  The Company intends to demonstrate that organic polymers can compete head-to-head with inorganic legacy telecom and datacom devices which currently provide the backbone for the entire infrastructure that converts almost incalculable amounts of electronic (binary) data into pulses of light and back on a daily basis.

Tom Zelibor, Lightwave Logic’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated, “Achieving this important milestone gives us early validation of the Company’s ability to capitalize on the strength of our material systems that have shown powerful electro-optic properties as well as strong thermal and photo chemical stability.

“We continue to advance toward our goal to demonstrate that our organic electro-optic material systems are a commercially feasible alternative, next generation technology that can solve the price/performance/scalability issues that confronts the industry. We are looking forward to announcing our passive testing results of our polymer ridge waveguide device in the near future.”
