Mr. James S. Marcelli: President & Chief Executive Officer*
Mr. Marcelli has served as President, CEO and director of Lightwave Logic since August 2008. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and its progress toward a fully functioning commercial enterprise. Over the last twenty years, Mr. Marcelli has served as the president and chief executive officer of multiple start-up and growth companies in high tech manufacturing and business services, including two companies that were founded by him. In addition, he has held senior management positions with several companies including Teradyne Corporation and Sanmina Corporation. Throughout his career, he has held positions in Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance. Mr. Marcelli has served on the boards of several non-profit corporations and also served on the Advisory Board of the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs Engineering School.
Mr. Andrew Ashton: Senior Vice President, Co-Founder, Treasurer, Secretary*
Mr. Ashton has served as VP, Treasurer, Secretary and director of Lightwave Logic since July 2004. Since that time, his assistance in the creation of the synthetic chemistry of our novel molecular architecture has been fundamental to the company's success. His current duties include the development of chemical synthesis, providing extensive analytical support and assisting with the company's management goals. Mr. Ashton is a skilled computer scientist and organic chemist who began his career in 1998 at the Army Research Laboratory.
Dr. Louis Glasgow: Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Glasgow joined Lightwave Logic as CTO in November 2011. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Radiation Chemistry section of the Max Planck Kohlenforschung Institute in Germany and taught at Northeastern University in Boston before joining the DuPont Company in 1973. At DuPont, Dr Glasgow held a series of positions in research, manufacturing and administration. His last position was Director of Research.
Dr. Glasgow worked for Corning as the Director of Research, Organic Technologies from 2003 through 2010, along with Dr. Joseph Miller. There he directed work aimed at improved ceramic catalyst substrates for automotive and truck emission control, organic coatings for glass and plastic relevant to the company’s interests in fiber optic communications, life sciences, and display technologies. In addition, he directed work aimed at creating novel organic semiconductors for display and photovoltaic applications.
Dr. Glasgow received a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Illinois, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physical chemistry from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He was appointed a fellow of the AAAS in 1995.
Mr. Charles Olson: Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mr. Olson joined Lightwave Logic as VP of Sales and Marketing in August 2011. Previously he was President and CEO of Gigamax Technologies, a test and measurement company focused on signal integrity measurements of high-speed serial data communication devices. Prior to Gigamax, Mr. Olson was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for CrossFire Technologies, a semiconductor technology startup company in Eden Prairie, MN. Prior to CrossFire, he was President and CEO of Inbox Software in Sunnyvale, CA., a software startup in the PDM market space that was acquired in 1999. Prior to Inbox, Mr. Olson was with Aspec Technology and Zycad Corporation where he held the positions of VP Sales and Marketing and General Manager. He also participated in successful IPOs with both companies. Mr. Olson has over 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the EDA/semiconductor industries, of which 15+ years were based in Silicon Valley.
Mr. Steven Cordovano: Vice President of Corporate Communications
Mr. Cordovano joined Lightwave Logic in January of 2011. He began his career in the capital markets division of Shearson Lehman Brothers in 1984 where he managed accounts for high net worth clients and hedge funds. In 1994 he became the General Partner of Gulfstream Partners LP a long/short equity fund that specialized in small-cap special situation equities. Mr. Cordovano has 30 years of experience performing extensive multi-sector research into companies with a primary interest in technology and health care. Gulfstream Partners LP was ranked by Financial World Magazine as the #1 performing hedge fund over three years, from 1994 to 1996. Longer term the fund achieved average annual returns of 15%, exceeding the market throughout 14 years of management. Mr. Cordovano brings to Lightwave Logic a sophisticated market perspective and broad investor network gained through his many years of investment experience as a highly successful fund manager and a founder of several companies in the Financial Services and Life Sciences Industries.
Mr. Cordovano began his education in the business School of Villanova University and received his B.A. from Manhattanville College in 1973.
Mr. Terry Turpin: Optical Computing Guru
Mr. Turpin has served as Lightwave Logic’s Optical-computing Guru since March 2008. From 1963 through December 1983, the National Securities Agency (NSA) employed Mr. Turpin as the Chief of the Advanced Processing Technologies Division. After a year as an independent consultant, he joined Essex Corporation through a merger with SEDC and became Senior Vice President and Chief Scientist in 1996 until January 2007, when Northrop Grumman Space & Mission Systems acquired Essex Corporation. Mr. Turpin was appointed as a Director of Essex Corporation in January 1997.
Since October 2006, Mr. Turpin has been a member of the UMBC College of Natural Science and Mathematics Advisory Board. He holds patents for optical computers and adaptive optical components. Mr. Turpin represented NSA on the Tri-Service Optical Processing Committee organized by the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron in 1966 and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. in 1970.
Dr. Howard E. Simmons, III
Dr. Howard E. Simmons, III, joined Lightwave Logic In November 2008 as part of our technology team. Dr. Simmons is a graduate of MIT and Harvard, where he spent 25 years with DuPont engaged in research & development at the corporate and business unit level. Dr. Simmons has contributed to programs in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDS), printable electronics, graphic arts, optical recording materials and fundamental polymer research. He holds 26 patents.
Dr. Anthony Cocuzza
Dr. Anthony J. Cocuzza joined Lightwave Logic in February 2009 as part of our technology team. Dr. Cocuzza worked for 30 years in medicinal chemistry and brings a highly developed set of synthetic and analytical skills to the company. A graduate of Princeton, Dr. Cocuzza spent 24 years with DuPont engaged in corporate research & development and with DuPont's joint venture with Merck.
Dr. Arthur Taggi
Dr. Arthur (Art) Taggi joined Lightwave Logic in May 2010. He recently retired from a long career in R&D with DuPont where his experience included organic synthesis, manufacturing scale-up of organic chemicals and pigments, process of use development for graphic arts materials, and formulation of holographic materials. Among his successful products is a special holographic film that is incorporated as a high security element in German passport and identification cards. He holds 10 US patents with several applications pending. Dr. Taggi is also the recipient of a DuPont Engineering Excellence award for his work commercializing the Cyrel® FAST Thermal Flexographic Plate Processor. Dr. Taggi holds a BS from Stevens Institute of Technology, and MS and PhD degrees from Cornell University.

Dr. Frederick J. Leonberger: Senior Technology Advisor
Dr. Leonberger joined Lightwave Logic as Senior Technical Advisor in December 2011. He previously served as senior vice president and chief technology officer of JDS Uniphase Corporation (JDSU), a leading optical components company, from 1999 until his retirement in June 2003 where he was responsible for strategic technology and was closely involved with mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property activities. Prior to JDSU, he was co-founder and general manager of UTP, a high-speed optical modulator company, and held research management positions at UTRC and MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He has more than 15 patents, 40 archival publications and 125 meeting presentations in the areas of opto-electonic devices and their applications in communications, sensing and signal processing.
Dr. Leonberger is currently the principal of EOvation Advisors LLC, a technology and business advisory firm that he founded in 2003. He serves on the Board of Directors of several venture-funded photonics companies and has been a senior advisor at the MIT Center for Integrated Photonic Systems. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a fellow of OSA and IEEE and has been awarded the IEEE Quantum Electronics Award, Photonics Award and Millennium Medal. He has also served as Chairman of a number of photonics conferences.
Dr. David F. Eaton: Senior Technology Advisor
Dr. Eaton served as an officer of Lightwave Logic from May 2007 until November 2011 when he became a Senior Technical Advisor. For over 30 years, Dr. Eaton was employed in DuPont's chemical division, with his last appointment being its technology director. From September 2003 to present, Dr. Eaton founded, and is the principal of Light Insights, LLC, a consulting firm. In addition, from March 2005 to present, Dr. Eaton serves as vice president of technology for the software company Precision Cure, LLC. Dr. Eaton has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology.

Thomas E. Zelibor, Rear Admiral, USN (Ret): Chairman of the Board
RADM Zelibor has served as a Director of Lightwave Logic since July 2008 and became Chairman in October 2011. He has over twenty years of strategic planning and senior leadership experience and is currently the President and CEO of Zelibor & Associates, LLC that offers professional consulting services to his clients. Previously, from July 2008 until April 2011, RADM Zelibor served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Flatirons Solutions Corp., a professional services firm that provides consulting, systems integration, systems and software engineering, and program management expertise to corporate and government clients.
Previously, RADM Zelibor served in a number of senior corporate and military positions, including Vice President for Strategic Operations-Strategies, Simulations, and Training Business Unit at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC); Director of Global Operations, United States Strategic Command; Director, Space, Information Warfare, Command and Control on the Navy staff; Department of the Navy, Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO), Navy; Commander, Carrier Group Three and Commander, Naval Space Command. RADM Zelibor received his bachelors degree from the United States Naval Academy in Oceanography.
Dr. Ross Fasick
Dr. Ross Fasick has served as a director of Lightwave Logic since July 2008. He has a broad spectrum of global business and chemistry experience that spans over thirty years. Dr. Fasick spent the early years of his career with DuPont as a research chemist, primarily working with polymers and dyes. During his thirty-year tenure at DuPont, Dr. Fasick held diverse positions ranging from manufacturing and business development to making divestitures and acquisitions. He served as President of DuPont's Brazil division and Director of worldwide paint operations. He completed his DuPont career as Senior VP of Polymers and Automotive, a division that generates multi-billion dollar annual revenues. Since his retirement, Dr. Fasick has remained an active board and committee member for private college and pre-college level institutions. Dr Fasick earned his PhD in organic chemistry at the University of Delaware.
Mr. William C. Pickett, III
Mr. Pickett has served as a director of Lightwave Logic since January 2008. Mr. Pickett enjoyed a 32 year career with E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., where he worked in numerous financial leadership positions, including serving from February 2002 to April 2004 as Chief Financial Officer of Invista, DuPont's $7 billion man-made fibers company, which was ultimately sold to Koch Industries, Inc. Since February 2005 Mr. Pickett has been serving as a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware; and since December 2004, Mr. Picket has been serving as Chair of Audit Committee and Chief Compliance Officer of the Operation Warm charity. Mr. Pickett received his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Trinity College.
Dr. Joseph A. Miller
Dr. Joseph A. Miller, Jr. has served as a Director of Lightwave Logic since May 2011. He is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Corning Incorporated. He joined Corning in July 2001 and was named to his current position in March 2002. Prior to joining Corning, Dr. Miller was with E.I. DuPont de Nemours, Inc., where he served as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President for Research & Development since 1994. He began his career with DuPont in 1966 as a research chemist in Polymer Science. He also held a variety of positions in research and development, manufacturing, business, and marketing.
Dr. Miller received a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Military Institute and a doctorate in chemistry from Penn State University. He is a member of numerous science and technology organizations, including the National Academy of Engineering, American Association for the Advancement of Science-Fellow, and the Industrial Research Institute. He is also on the board of directors of Greatbatch Inc. and Dow Corning.
